Welcome to the Karoo, grab a beer or something to drink and collect your goody bag. During registration, you will receive your trail run package with your number and some other goodies. Runners must please remember to present some sort of photo identification document (driver’s license, passport or ID book) as proof of identity. If a runner has not registered, they will not be allowed to start.

You’re welcome to arrive from 13:00 on Saturday 18 September onwards. No accommodation is available at the venue the day prior to the event.

Experience starry Karoo nights underneath a spectacular clear Milky Way with complimentary tented accommodation which is included in your entry. We also have alternative accommodation options available such as comfy canvas tents and guest farm accommodation. (Saturday and Sunday Night included)

Dwarsvlei Farm converted old horse stables into rooms. Expect a clean, cozy & spacious room rich in Karoo history. *2 Nights accommodation 2 single beds and mattresses.*Bring own pillow, bedding and towel. *You will share in the communal ablution.

The Stable Rooms will include the following:
2 Nights accommodation
2 single beds and mattresses with fitted sheets
The Stable Room option must be booked online along with your entry.

Complimentary tented accommodation: Each runner receives a tent erected in advance along with a mattress. Additional tents and mattresses can be booked online. There are permanent shower and toilet facilities at the venue. *Please note: bring your own pillow and sleeping bag. No accommodation is available the day prior to the event.


Hospitality at Run The Karoo truly show in the food. Expect Karoo lamb tjops, freshly baked farm bread, condensedmilk coffee at breakfast to potatoes and koeksisters at the water points. Not to mention craft beer on tap for the weekend!

*Saturday lunch is available to purchase throughout the afternoon.

Run the Karoo do not just offer your regular waterpoints!
Water points at Run the Karoo is a place where you won’t want to leave as there are crispy, sweet koeksisters, boerewors, potatoes, mini roosterkoekies and ‘n lekker vibe!

Condensedmilk coffee and tea available at breakfast. Water, Craft Beer, Craft Gin, Wine and soft drinks will be on sale from the bar at the Main Building as well as at our new “Karoo Craft Chill Zone”.

Water is supplied for the water points and consumption during each stage. All tap water in our tour village is perfectly safe for drinking, and it is recommended that riders utilise our supply of drinking water.


We have backup support each day should you not be able to run any further and medical staff on the route as well as at the finish to assist incase you sustain an injury.

You’ll need a head lamp for the Night Run. It is advisable that you carry water, cellphone, whistle and emergency food with you. It is highly advisable that the 22km runners carry a camelback with on the run. There’s Neutral Support at designated points on the route should you not be able to run any further. Medics at the venue to assist incase you sustain an injury.

Medical service at each stage. Trained medical personnel will also be en route to handle any emergencies that may occur. More serious cases will be transferred to any of the local hospitals, where a more comprehensive service is available. Please remember to carry the details of your medical insurance with, in case of hospitalisation.
